Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 13, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what happens to your data when you use Toolzen. We've tried to write it in plain language rather than dense legal boilerplate, because the honest answer for most of this site is reassuringly simple: your data stays on your device.

Local, Browser-Based Processing

Every tool on Toolzen — the Color Palette Generator, the JSON Formatter, the ROI Calculator, and the Compound Interest Calculator — runs entirely inside your web browser using JavaScript. "Local processing" means that when you type or paste something into a tool, that data is read, transformed and displayed by code running on your own device; it is not transmitted to Toolzen's servers or to any third party. We have no server-side database of user inputs because those inputs never reach a server in the first place. You can confirm this independently using your browser's built-in network inspector (developer tools).

Cookies and Local Storage

Toolzen does not currently set any tracking or advertising cookies. The site does use your browser's localStorage — a small amount of storage built into every modern browser — to remember two preferences: your selected language (English or Chinese) and your selected theme (light or dark mode). LocalStorage is technically not a cookie: it is not automatically sent to any server with each request, it stays on your device, and it is only ever read by Toolzen's own pages to restore your preference the next time you visit. You can clear it at any time through your browser's site data settings.

Analytics

Toolzen does not currently use any analytics or tracking service. If that changes in the future — for example, to understand which tools are most useful so we can prioritize development — this section will be updated first to disclose exactly what is collected and why, before any such service is added.

Google AdSense and Third-Party Advertising

Toolzen plans to use Google AdSense to display advertising in the future in order to help cover hosting and development costs. Once enabled, Google AdSense and its advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, and device identifiers to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites, and to measure ad performance. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to Toolzen and/or other sites on the Internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, and you can learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services at https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads. This section will be updated with any tool- or region-specific consent mechanisms (such as a cookie consent banner) at the time AdSense is actually enabled.

Children's Privacy

Toolzen is a general-audience utility site and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, regardless of age, since the tools do not transmit user input anywhere in the first place.

Changes to This Policy

If Toolzen's data practices change — most notably when analytics or Google AdSense are actually enabled — this page will be updated to describe the change, and the "Last updated" date above will reflect the revision.
